It's been awhile since I've had to do any work on sub 2k but I know what
I've found from personal experience and that is, Windows XP Professional
would not boot unless it was one the Master. I didn't try primary or
secondary but, I remember that I had to, in order to switch OSes, change
the first boot device in the BIOS from the primary slave to the primary
master. I now know that I didn't even have to do that because i could
just copy the linux drive's MBR and use that file for windows 2k/xp to
boot from. My point remains, however, that XP would not boot if it were
on the slave, even though that's where it was installed on originally.
Maybe something was screwy with the hardware. I don't know right now and
don't need to.
I simply charge more because windows gives me grief way more often than
anything else.

Windows NT/2K/XP doesn't really care where it is located. Win 98 and
earlier needed to boot from primary master.

Given your attitude towards windows and gaps of knowledge, I think I
understand why you charge more for servicing.
