Does your CD drive show up? What device are you pointing cdrecord at?

The CD burner is the first device on the second IDE controller? Can you tal=
k
to it via /dev/hdc?

eject /dev/hdc

I presume you know that you can't access IDE devices vie ide-scsi if the ID=
E
driver's already grabbed them ( but I'm reminding you in case you forgot :)=
