Subject: Stolen laptop
Its things like this below that make me wonder just how much of the equipment
I bid on via ebay is actually legit.

I've recently come across some deals via ebay for a replacement compaq
presario 1255 notebook (need a replacement as mine has bought the farm).
sure, I keep getting outbid, but the prices seem almost too good to be true).

I am really wondering if there is any way to determine if a pirce of equipment
is stolen or not BEFORE you ever get hold of it.
