I've recently come across some deals via ebay for a replacement compaq presario 1255 notebook (need a replacement as mine has bought the farm). sure, I keep getting outbid, but the prices seem almost too good to be true). I am really wondering if there is any way to determine if a pirce of equipment is stolen or not BEFORE you ever get hold of it.
