Unfortunetly this did not work. I went in and
commented out the search localdomain. Then put in the
dns of my ISP, earthlink. I ran it again, with no
luck, then looked at the file again. This time it
looked like this:
# search localdomain #entry disabled by kppp
search localdomain
# nameserver 209.244.0.3 #kppp temp entry
# nameserver 209.244.0.3 # ppp temp entry
# nameserver 209.244.0.4 #kppp temp entry
# nameserver 209.244.0.4 # ppp temp entry
nameserver 207.217.77.82
nameserver 207.217.120.83
nameserver 209.244.0.3
# domain earthlink.net #kppp temp entry
# ppp temp entry
I have no idea where the 209.244.0.3 came from, but
the two starting with 207. are the dns of earthlink.
I can not do a nslookup because the only computer I
have access to that command is the one I am having a
problem with.
Any ideas of what else to try?
