Subject: sound in Debian
I am assuming the kernel is compiled just
right if you can cat the file and your have sound.

One thing I had to do to get the mixer to work for me
is set the permissions on the devices. I can't remember
what is is at the moment, but that should get you working.

Let me know if the helps or you need to know which devices.
