It doesn't matter which one you use, as long as you use the same one for
both sides. Ethernet actaully only uses 1,2,3,6 and if you look at the
colors that are left over after you take out the unused ones you can easly
see that 1,2 are just swapped with 3,6 so if you found that you wanted to
make a crossover cable you could just crimp one end with the residential
side and once end with the business side and that would do it.
Anyway, you can use whatever wire you want as long as you use a color pair
between 1-2 and 3-6 if you don't it might still work, but the wires will
be more prone to interference.
I personally prefer the "business" color scheme, although it's the first
time I've seen it reffered to like that.
