Given that OpenSearch is licensed in the original Apache license, I imagine that it's still going to supplant Elastic. That said for most use cases the difference between Apache and AGPL isn't going to matter because you're just running it as an application in your stack rather than building on top of it.

On top of that, a lot of corporations are allergic to anything with the letters GPL in them due to concerns about it infecting their software.

The only open-source software that I can remember in recent times that had some controversy around it due to license changes that survived is MongoDB; IIRC there wasn't any real effort to fork it, maybe because it's shine had dulled by the time that happened and there were already useful alternatives.
