I have been using Proxmox for years. It is rock solid as a replacement for
ESXi, I use about 20% of the features but it supports clustering and a
bunch of other high end features. Install was pretty simple and the
upgrades have been pretty simple. I run TruNas as a VM with hardware pass
through to its own disks. Works really well.
