Or...
Can anybody ask: Why does Michael need a 'boot' partition to begin with?
(my opinion follows, we all know the global opinion about opinions)
There are valid reasons to have a boot partition, like the need to use an
exotic filesystem that Linux is either unable to boot or to function from
(NTFS for example)

The reasons for using an 'exotic' filesystem are many, database specific
issues at the top of the list.

Other partitions for specific directories (/tmp /var/log) are mostly
predicated on guarding the machine against inadvertent 'filesystem fill up',
and it was meant to guard boxes with multiple users.
You can't regulate stupidity...

Point is: why does Michael (or someone like 'Michael') need several specific
directories isolated on specific partitions?
Answer?
He doesn't...
YMMV.

PS: And always remember:
if you have any question,
you will get any answer...
