I could tell you about FreeNAS. It's really excellent. I've got version
0.7.2 running with no problems. It comes with a bittorrent client (and
web interface for it), software RAID support, optional encryption, and
support for several different protocols. I don't know anything about the
sheevaplug, but I imagine that it would run fine on the device. I've got
it running on my Atom just fine. Load averages 0.09, 0.09, 0.03 with
several services running, and bittorrent seeding at 100 KiB/s.
