I've got version 0.7.2 running with no problems. It comes with a bittorrent client (and web interface for it), software RAID support, optional encryption, and support for several different protocols. I don't know anything about the sheevaplug, but I imagine that it would run fine on the device. I've got it running on my Atom just fine.
