You want a new partition. They can share the same home partition and the
same swap partition, but each OS need to have it's own setup for OS files.

Ubuntu can install into a file on a partition. If you need that look at
lubi and wubi.

If you want to wipe out SuSE you can just install over the same partition.
Make sure to have backups of any data you want as the install will wipe
out everything on the partitions you allocate for the new install.
