To LOAD the Unbuntu > onto my system, do I have remove ALL the SuSe files, a few select > files?, create a whole new blank partition for Unbuntu?, or can the > two distros coexist in the same file system and just be picked by Grub > at boot time? You want a new partition. They can share the same home partition and the same swap partition, but each OS need to have it's own setup for OS files. Ubuntu can install into a file on a partition. If you need that look at lubi and wubi. If you want to wipe out SuSE you can just install over the same partition. Make sure to have backups of any data you want as the install will wipe out everything on the partitions you allocate for the new install. ciao, der.hans -- # http://www.LuftHans.com/ http://www.LuftHans.com/Classes/ # "Printing and publishing has been a big industry in the city since the # early 1800s, when New York publishers were the first American printers # with access to pirated English best sellers." # -- New York Magazine, 2007Jun04
