CDI IT Solutions has a great opportunity for a Unix Administrator with
our client in Scottsdale, AZ. This is a 3 month contract position with
possibility of going perm, depending on performance. The shift is
9pm-9am Saturday-Monday, and some Tuesdays.



Job Description:



This candidate should be an energetic and a well-rounded Unix Systems
Administrator with proven technical experience and sheer enthusiasm to
be able to support our client's site and services in a 24/7, dynamic
and fast-paced growing environment. You will be working with other team
members on ticket queue; responding to technical escalations as well as
escalating out as necessary; and coaching and mentoring the shift staff.
Seeking operational efficiency one shift at a time and one problem at a
time is the winning approach to this position. This person has to be a
self-starter who is proactive and self-motivated to achieve operational
excellence.



Key Responsibilities:



·         Work within a NOC team to provide front line support of our
clients site and services


·         Coach and mentor fellow team members to improve technical
skillset


·         Provide first level technical and management escalations to
the NOC


·         Proactively monitor and troubleshoot production systems to
identify discrepancies and potential problems using Big Brother, Hobbit,
Tivoli and other NOC monitoring tools


·         Provide phone/email support to all of internal customers


·         Closely manage change to the production site to maintain
stability and availability


·         Work with multiple teams of various technical disciplines,
typically via a conference call, to not only fix issues but able to
provide timely status and complete updates in corresponding ticket(s)


·         Make sound decisions in extremely short time frames under
immense pressure in a complex technical environment


·         Able to Work the Graveyard shifts as required to support a
24x7 staffing model which may include weekends and Holidays


·         Be flexible to working overtime as needed


·         Responsible for the Day-to-Day activities of the NOC Center


·         Manages shift resources to daily goals/objectives


·         Ensures all tickets are prioritized correctly and proper
escalation is applied


·         Handles all NOC first level escalations


·         Ticket queue management


·         Able to respond tactically to overflow work


·         Communication point for the NOC for all issues


·         Share responsibilities and function as back up for shift

Job Requirements

(Knowledge, skills, abilities, experience required to perform job)



·         5+ years of 24/7/365 NOC experience


·         5-10 years of Unix/Linix/Solaris experience


·         2+ years of management/supervisory experience


·         Proven crisis management leadership ability working with
cross functional teams and executive management


·         Advanced knowledge of operating system internals, file
system structures, and machine architectures in a UNIX/Linux environment


·         World class verbal and written communication skills with
customer satisfaction as the main focus


·         Proven problem solving skills with an emphasis on quick
problem resolution in a large eCommerce environment


·         Able to flourish in a fast paced, high pressure environment
on every shift!


·         Ability to keep abreast of technological changes and
innovation and their applicability to the company's goals


·         Advanced experience with Mail, DNS, TCP/IP


·         Intermediate LAN/WAN experience


·         Working knowledge of relational Databases preferably Oracle


·         Experience with web development technologies like HTML,
XML, XSL, Java


·         Working knowledge of SAN technologies, Oracle, PERL, AWK,
SED, load balancing technologies, and shell scripting
