umm... just to clarify, I am suggesting that the owner of grill.com could
effectively monetize their asset by reselling subdomains. So I guess in
this scenario, you would contract the ownership of the subdomain
godaddy.grill.com from the owners of grill.com. I think this is a market
schema a few people envisioned years ago, but it didn't really pan out for
some reason. As I said there is no 'out of the box' legal way to do this,
but I would wager to guess that it is supported by US law (TINLA!).

remember the primary value in a domain is mnemonic (easy to remember), and
godaddy.grill.com is just as easy to remember (if not more) than
godaddygrill.com . you could even subdomain daddygrill.com to make
go.daddygrill.com.

in general though, domain names are way too overvalued.
