Wasn't it Carol Sagan who said any society that that is sufficiently
technologically advanced comes to a point where their ceases to be a
difference between sciences and magic.

Yes, most people do see their computer as a magic black box, but then
again most people see their microwave, car, TV, and VCR the same way.
If people understood their TV and VCR their wouldn't be stupid movies
like the ring... Or maybe if they stopped smoking pot... whichever ;)

you zoomed right past my point...

The 'dummy' cannot and will not bother to ever care
what goes on in the computer..which basically gets
down to assembly language at some point. Most people,
a computer is a black box of mystery. That is or was
the point both of the tee shirt and those guys
uninformed and don't care attitudes.
