Wasn't it Carol Sagan who said any society that that is sufficiently technologically advanced comes to a point where their ceases to be a difference between sciences and magic. Yes, most people do see their computer as a magic black box, but then again most people see their microwave, car, TV, and VCR the same way. If people understood their TV and VCR their wouldn't be stupid movies like the ring... Or maybe if they stopped smoking pot... whichever ;) -----Original Message----- From: plug-discuss-bounces@lists.plug.phoenix.az.us [mailto:plug-discuss-bounces@lists.plug.phoenix.az.us] On Behalf Of eculbert Sent: Sunday, July 29, 2007 9:41 PM To: Main PLUG discussion list Subject: Re: Explaining T-Shirts you zoomed right past my point... The 'dummy' cannot and will not bother to ever care what goes on in the computer..which basically gets down to assembly language at some point. Most people, a computer is a black box of mystery. That is or was the point both of the tee shirt and those guys uninformed and don't care attitudes. --- Alan Dayley wrote: > The point of using Linux and Free Software is not to > be better than > someone else.
