People have to keep in mind that problems that they may or may not
experience with either DSL or Cox Internet are governed by the issues
that are typically local and not endemic.
I've seen DSL work poorly because of water damaged lines into a
telephone termination box where Qwest will respond to irate callers by
switching users around on the terminals in the box so to make one
customer happy, they make another customer unhappy.
I've seen Cox work poorly because they have put their lines under
asphalt streets that shift and settle over time and gradually break the
wires.
The only thing that the consumer of broadband Internet can do is to
monitor the status of their 'modem' which is being made cheaper all the
time and bitch to customer service when the problem is on the other side
of their modem.
