I don't think Linspire ever had root as the only login for any released
version... even back when they went by "Lindows". That said, they don't
prompt you to create a non-root user. To create one, you have to do so
via the "advanced setup" during the setup procedure.
I think it's more important to know if all those pre-installed versions
of Linspire have a root-only setup or do they run the setup program...
or maybe have a default non-root user? I have no clue about all that.
Does that matter for anybody on this list, anyway? I mean, if you got a
system with Linspire installed on it, wouldn't you just nuke it and
install whatever your favorite distro is on it (maybe after toying with
it for a bit)?
But yeah, IF the pre-installed Linspires have a root-only environment
and they continue to be targeted at newbies, then that's pretty bad.
