I'm running PCLOS 0.92 with two users plus root. The dbus-1 daemon should
terminate itself when someone logs off and quits X, but it doesn't. Right
now, while I'm logged in as a user, there are 32 instances of dbus-1 daemon
running simultaneously, from both users plus root. They date back to June 17,
the last time I rebooted the computer.
From my reading, it seems this is an old bug with dbus-1. The solution is to
add "--exit-with-session" to the dbus-1 configuration. There are two
configuration files, at /etc/dbus-1/system and /etc/dbus-1/session. These are
XML files that caution against changing their configuration directly. They
say to create a "session-local" configuration file, and put any instruction
in that, but they don't say HOW.
I've googled a lot but can't find any detailed instructions for how to do
this.
Is it correct to assume that the session-local file would also be
in /etc/dbus-1 ?
What _exactly_ would this file need to contain?
Would it need to be another XML file, or a text file?
Thanks for any help. And everybody, have a Happy and Safe 4th of July!
