Subject: Re: Lisping and Scheming
I won't claim to be permanently transformed, but I grok Lisp (and functional programming in general) fairly well.

If you're interested in functional programming in general, I find that learning XSLT (which is a functional language) is both enlightening and practical, it's also pretty fun, especially with XSL-FO thrown in for grins.

That said, here are a couple books for Lisp that I recall as being acceptable.
Fair warning: I think all or nearly all of these are now out of print, but you might find them used at Amazon or in a used bookstore.
Common LISP, Second Edition : The Language by Guy Steele
Publisher: Digital Press; 2 edition (June 15, 1984)
    ISBN: 1555580416
Common Lisp: The Reference by Franz Inc.
Publisher: Addison Wesley Publishing Company (December 1988)
    ISBN: 0201114585
Common Lisp user interface environment by Kerry Kimbrough
Publisher: Texas Instruments; Version 1.13 edition (January 1, 1988)
    ASIN: B0007382L4
Common LISP by Touretzsky
    Publisher: Benjamin/Cummings (a Pearson Education company) (January 1, 1990)
    ISBN: 0805304932
