Hmm, I don't know of a version of GNU/Linux that has the security and

Ubuntu is a third party version of debian. It takes advantage of all the
good things debian provides, but has more frequent releases and
concentrates more on the user interface.
Ubuntu appears to put a lot of effort into getting changes upstream into
debian and to staying tied to debian. I've been promoting that type of
environment for years, so I love it :).
