All the true hardware RAID devices/cards I've dealt with (Dell PERC cards,
and Adaptec) all have onboard BIOS' which you would need to configure
prior to using the drives, creating volumes, etc.
My Adaptec cards came with some hefty manuals on how to set the BIOS up,
however mine are all SCSI systems, and I've yet to get my hands on SATA
devices ;)
