Thanks to everybody who replied on this, and
especially for the examples.

I finally got php-mysql, but only after I enabled
the CentOS "Plus" channel. Go figure . . .
Next challenge was php-jpgraph, on the "dag" repo.
When I did "yum install" it failed, but I noticed
this message:
Reducing Dag RPM Repository for Red Hat
Enterprise Linux to included packages only
So I compared my dag.repo file with Craig's, and
it had an "includepkgs" list left over from when
I originally set up that repo for a specific
application. I removed that, and everything works.
Is there a query to tell where I got each item?
Thanks again!
Vic
