I have been happy with my Linksys WRT54Gs. I have two setup for permanent
use and one for travel. You've seen me have problems with the travel unit,
but I think that was due to the local networks.
Similar models from other manufacturers such as netgear and d-link
probably work just as well.
The Linksys has the advantage of being Linux-based and having the code
available ( once they were slapped ). You can load your own setup :).
I don't directly own stock in any of the above companies, but I do work
for Cisco, which own Linksys.

I haven't wandered more than 20 or 30 yards away from them, but they've
worked fine for me.
