webcam/camera combo

I was reading Siri's thread on cameras whose files can be transfered to linux, and thought of posting this question.

Can anyone recommend a camera that can also be used as a webcam (on a tripod of course). The camera would have to have a port for external power. I have been trying to hook up an inexpensive camera to gnomemeeting without much luck.
