I use a bank card that draws from a checking account. It's my minor
caliber account, so if someone hacks the card, they can't bleed my
major caliber account dry. I only use it for online purchases and at
the gas pump. I don't even use it at ATM machines. For my major
account, I didn't even accept an ATM card for it.

If I'm making an online purchase from a smallish vendor, I now assume
they don't know anything about security so I'll send them a cheque
instead of charging online.
