hi,
i try to run network / services / and the red hat network alert icon and
cannot
so from command line i tried and got a little bit more information:

File "/usr/sbin/system-config-network-gui", line 41, in ?
from rhpl.translate import _, N_, textdomain_codeset
ImportError: No module named rhpl.translate
UP2DATE:
[root@laptop mikeaz]# up2date
Traceback (most recent call last):

[root@laptop mikeaz]# system-config-services
Traceback (most recent call last):

i ck'd synaptic for gtk and it seems to be installed, although there are
many different ones to choose from
i also booted to a different kernel no help
any idea what is causing this?
also since I can't seem to get 'services' running can someone tell me
how to get cups running?
thanks,
mike h
