Subject: How to flush lpstat pipe after canceling print?

This is a small, but very annoying problem ...

Sometimes I mistakenly send a large file to print,
so I use 'lpstat' to get the file print number, and then
use cancel Printer-nnnn to cancel the unwanted file.

But even after doing that, when I subsequently turn on
the printer, I get one or two pages of garbage printing.

Is there any way to flush out the pipe after canceling
a print request, so I don't get those annoying garbage-
print pages?
