Re: RHEL hangs on boot after unclean shutdown

To narrow the problem, have you tried removing the HAL Daemon from the default run
level? If not HAL, then maybe try service which begins after HAL during boot. Or
maybe boot to run-level 1 and start each services until the computer hangs.
