Subject: Re: DVD burning advice
I'm at my wit's end with this DVD burning problem. I have tried a Memorex
DVD-R and get the same results.

- I have re-encoded everything for interlaced instead of progressive.
- I have re-encoded at max video bit-rate of 4000.
- I have re-encoded at max audio bit-rate of 128k.
- I have split out one of the known problem files and tried many changes.
- I have searched the net a followed various step-by-step guides,
including doing everything from the command line, in a terminal login
with no X-windows running.
- I have pulled out some of what little hair I have left.

None of it helps. I can loopback mount the ISO file and play everything
just fine. But, once I burn to DVD, I get skips, audio cutout, refusal
to play. On two different DVD players.

The only conclusion I can make is that my DVD burner is bad/flakey. I am
at the end with this project until I can try an new burner. Does anyone
have any other bright ideas?

Alan
