I looked at your html, and there's no reason it should have a problem there.
I just tried your HTML (on Windows). pasted it into an HTML file, copied a small image into the same directory, tried playing with capitalization, the link worked every time.
Is the CD burned with ISO level 2 or 3 support (and UDF filesystem structures)? Windows doesn't always handle CD filesystems correctly, so it's possible that there is a problem there...
Sorry if my first post seemed a bit overbearing, didn't catch the capitalization thing on the original post.
