Absolutely! OSX has built in AES-128 encryption of random disk images.
They take it a step farther for home directories by integrating it
directly into the GUI:

When I wanted my home dir on my PowerBook encrypted, I just clicked on 
the button in the config panel and that was it.    Everything else was 
taken care of for me.  It automatically mounts my homedir when I log in 
and umounts it when I log out.  Pretty slick.
