You may want to look at scripts for Shopping Carts and Auctions at
http://cgi.resourceindex.com/Programs_and_Scripts/Perl/
I don't know if they are "open source" but in most cases the source is
freely available. Some may be way out-of-date and no maintenance, but some
may be very professional (but still free).
Also do some searches for PHP scripts and I think you can find similar
collections of known stores written in PHP.
