I need help with a broken laptop

I had this Dell Latitude c600 that I sold to my nephew for his wife.
Well, I'm not sure if the story is correct, but she says she "dropped"
it. Anyway, it doesn't work and I don't know how to diagnose let alone
fix it. Is there any chance someone going to the next westside PLUG
meeting can take a look at it and let me know if anything can be salvaged?

Also, I have six IBM NetVista flexATX cases I can give away if it can
help get the laptop working.
