Anybody here has experience with phpmywebhosting s/w ?? I donno how far it matches with Plesk and other commercial webhosting s/w??

OK, following Mike's and Steven's suggestions, I might not go with LDAP
with the limited knowledge that I have about it. If this is the scenario,
If a client/admin added a user ( for email) for a particular hosted
domain, other users in that domain should be able to view the new user's
email in their contacts (like the way you select an email id in the
To/Cc/Bcc address bar - doesn't matter if it's a client/webmail) with
out all the users adding this new user in their contacts explicitly.
what should I do?
