mouse issues in Mdk 10.1

Just wondering if any of you have encountered problems using a mouse
with Mandrake 10.1 (or other flavor of linux if this sort of thing
crosses distro lines).

I have installed Mdk 10.1 Official on a server set up that I have.
Nothing unusual about the setup and it has worked well with previous
installs of Mdk 9.2 and 10.1 Community.

However, when I installed Mdk 10.1 Official, the mouse just quit
working. It doesn't matter whether I use a PS2 or USB mouse, they both
work fine during the install process, but after I remove disk 3 and
reboot, nothing.

I can't reset the mouse from system configuration tool either. If I
change the mouse settings, they won't stick.

Seems very odd, since both mice work well in the setup and have worked
with previous installs. Also, the same 10.1 Official CD's worked fine
for my laptop (I can use a variety of mice on the laptop as well).

Any thoughts?
