Craig,

Well put.

If I might take it a step further, the difference between a gift and an
investment depends upon expecting something in return.

I tend to do things (helping someone) as a gift, expecting nothing in
return.

I fear this approach to life may encourage me to be socially inept. I have
posted many questions on the PLUG list and received may helpful answers. I
literally would not be as comfortable with Linux (still a newbe) as I am
today without the PLUG list.

Unfortunately, the left side (or is it the right side) of my brain
encourages me NOT to post simple "Thank You" messages (to the list) as they
take up band width and waste other readers time. I am thinking that I have
erred here.

To all those PLUGers who have provided me help (courteous reply's to some
very dumb questions) when really I needed it, THANKS!

That list includes Der Hans, Alan, Craig, and many whose names fail me at
this time.

Thanks PLUGers.

George

#1 - if you do someone a favor and they seem not to appreciate it, it
would be better off to let it go than to carry it forward with
resentment. If you can't do favors without obligating the intended
recipient, you have attached more importance to it than just merely
being a favor.
