Guys - remember, this is a new user...
If you open a terminal window.
And you want to change to root
type 'su -'
note the " -"
they are significant. The argument is to load the users profile which
means that root's environment (i.e. PATH) will be loaded.
The reason the 'Command not found' happened was because you didn't
have /sbin in profile. This is easily fixed by typing 'su -' instead of
'su' to switch to root.
