Supposedly, there is a 'tier 1' level. Anyone know
anything about it? It is '4x dialup' according to the
cox person I spoke with. Is it limited in any other
way?
All the mother and son want is to free up the phone
line as the daughter has to use it for work and is
'happy' with dialup.
Supposedly, tier 1 cox connection is $24.95/mo. The
daughter is using web based email now, so that isn't
much of a factor as I see it. And I don't think she
uses much if any website building stuff. Mostly email
and connecting to work machines via dialup.
The MAIN reason to go with something other than dialup
is to free up the phone and not loose any more speed.
If you have Qworst 'install' or 'add' a second line,
they just slap a splitter on the current wire and you
wind up with 28.8kbs as max connect. I know, been
there, done that. And dsl isn't an option....to many
feet from service center.
