Subject: Re: Broadband Service in the Phoenix Metro Area
Ah, so Qwest can go through a stand alone line?

What's the difference in upstream and downstream between Qwest and Cox?

I had Comcast cable broadband when I lived in Virginia and had a nice
downstream, but a trickle of an upstream. I've heard DSL offers a
greater upstream, but don't require it.

All my computers (Linux and BSD desktops, Apple laptop) will sit behind
my router which should have no problem with PPPoE. I'd like to be able
to server SSH and HTTP (and maybe some other things), but don't require
that functionality.

The apartment I've got is just off of Shea and the 51, but I'll only be
there 6 months, at which time I'm not sure where I'll be. So if I
don't have to sign a contract (it would suck to have to sign a 1 year
contract only to move to find out DSL or wireless aren't available in
my area), it needs to be 6 months or shorter.

Thanks for the help, and keep the suggestions coming!
