Ask a non-technical person what "The Internet" is. They will say
"Internet Explorer" or web sites. They will also know about email and,
because of napster, P2P file sharing. Most people do not know what
newsgroups, IRC, FTP or other various protocols are.

The MPAA and RIAA go after what most file swappers are using and know
about so they currently are largely leaving newsgroups and IRC alone.

Just my opinion based on assumptions and anicdotal evidence. Not to be
construed as actual fact.
