My sound use to work on my laptop, but then I tried to install alsa and
(1) I could not get alsa to work and (2) after removing the alsa
packages I installed my sound does not work at all.
How do I get the sound back? My audio controller is an Intel 82801 (see
below).
In general, how does one configure sound on a Debian system? I googled
around and found some old references to sndconfig, but that package is
not included in testing. Has something replaced that package? I tried to
do it from the KDE Control Center, but I could not find anything to help
the problem.
