thunderbird mail client

hi
at work i use windows and will be trying out
thunderbird, i've got it set up at work and the
filters only work if I choose TOOLS -> 'run filters on
folders'. I remember in outlook express it applied
filters as the email came in. I looked all around the
options advanced and didn't see anything that would
automatically filter as the emails come in.

i know not really linux related
