I'm using pdflib by Thomas Merz, the original author of PS and the PDF
format who was hired by Adobe Systems when the specs were written.
He has tools for the end user to use blocks and forms that relate to the
website programming.
Also pdflib allows for pdf upload and manipulation without affecting the
quality of the PDF as well as support for PDF/X-1, PDF/X-2, PDF/X-3
which are required by print shops using modern printing equipment.
