If you're going to have multiple people reading email from one account,
you should use an IMAP server. Set your mindspring account to forward
mail to the linux box. If mindspring won't let you forward mail, then use
fetchmail to get the mail onto the machine you would be using for the IMAP
server.

About two people reading the same message at the same time. I used to
work at a place that used an IMAP server for employees' mail accounts.
There were folders on that server that were available to people depending
on what department they were in. Accounting had a folder, sales had one,
and so on. Everyone in a particular department had access to the files in
their department's folder. Sometimes these files were being read by more
than one person at the same time.
