The Slackers may have to help you with this one. I don't know if Slack
installs USB support by default. If it does, it should "just work" except
for permission issues.
When you connect the drive, does the computer see it? With it connected do
the command "lsusb -v" and see if it is listed there. You may have to pipe
the output through less to scroll around and look for the drive: "lsusb -v |
less" Press the "q" key to exit less.

How is your flash card connected to the computer?
