Samba Question

I re-installed my Debian box, so I backed off all my Samba configuration
files. After re-installing I have Samba running but I have two issues and I
have not be able to fix them. Before the group of a file created on the
Samba share was smb. There is now no smb group. Also I can not write to the
drive. What am I missing?
