RE: Samba Question

I am part of the smb group. the directory looks like:

drwxr-xr-x    2 root     smb          4096 Oct 21 23:19 public

Yet I can not write to the directory.

Did you add (define) a group named "smb" to Linux?

Is your user a member of the "smb" group?

What are the permissions/ownership of the directory to which you're
trying to write?
